Quevedo's professional career began with local Cádiz CF, making his La Liga debuts during 1989–90 (11 matches played in the season). Alongside another club youth graduate, Kiko, he would be instrumental in the Andalusians successive successful struggles with relegation in three seasons.
After Cádiz's 1992–93 relegation, Quevedo moved, with Kiko, to Atlético Madrid, but failed to settle unlike the centre forward, signing with Real Valladolid after just one season. In his second year, he netted a career-best 13 goals, helping the club barely avoid top flight relegation, and added 10 in the following.
Quevedo then played with Cádiz neighbours Sevilla FC (one promotion and one relegation) and Rayo Vallecano (as the Madrid side remained three consecutive years in the top level), finishing in June 2004 with his first club, in division two.[1]
Quevedo shares birthplace and date with Arteaga, also a Cádiz CF youth graduate.
